The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides – Jules Verne
The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach – waiting for a gift from the sea.
Anne Morrow Lindbergh

There is one knows not what sweet mystery about this sea, whose gently awful stirrings seem to speak of some hidden soul beneath.
Herman Melville

The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.
Jacques Yves Cousteau

The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence.
Jules Verne

A beach is not only a sweep of sand, but shells of sea creatures, the sea glass, the seaweed, the incongruous objects washed up by the ocean.
Henry Grunwald

    1. Do remember that this is England and beautiful clear days are kind of rare. The beach and sea are beautiful in the winter too, but one doesn’t appreciate it quite so much when one is being battered by gale-force wind and pelted with diluvian rain πŸ˜‰

  1. Thank you for sharing this. It’s so hard to take a picture of the sea when calm, but it’s lovely that it is so close to you. I am sure it is wonderful in the summer.
