Blind arrogance

Mightily hard is the fall, when it’s a fall you’ve inflicted
on others so many times – but for yourself never expected

Intelligence is a gift one should never overestimate

Especially in oneself, hence the need to evaluate…

situations and people, before you make your move
Of your blind arrogance, my queen, I disapprove

Your love for your children, your only redeeming quality

Alas, not enough to earn my, or anyone else’s, magnanimity

You brought this unfortunate situation on yourself
A scheming queen ought toΒ have ampleΒ self-awareness

Guilty of resting on your laurels, you should have stayed sharp
Oh dear Cersei, you’re just not as clever as you think you are

      1. Yeah, me too. Although I do love the character, she’s a real bitch but she’s witty with it – she also likes her wine, a girl after my own heart πŸ˜‰
I find her fascinating really, she’s just not as clever as the thinks she is (as I wrote) but she’s pretty smart all the same.

  1. That’s a really, really great poem. You’ve inspired me to write two lines, right now, about Cersei.

When you play the Game of Thrones
You’ll need more than fine cheekbones

(It’s not that good, mine I mean. Thank you so much for sharing the link to you poetry on a comment I recently made.)
