I must thank the lovely Jennifer who challenged me yesterday to do this. I have been swamped by challenges in recent weeks and I must say, to my great shame, that I’ve hardly done any of them. To all the people who were good enough to think of me, please forgive me, I greatly appreciate all of you but there hasn’t been enough hours in the day. Shameful and shameless apologies done, now I must ask you to please check out Jennifer’s poetry if you haven’t done so already, it will be worth your while, I promise.
The Quote:
The poem: Tongue-tied
Eyes glued to the road
fractured, febrile thoughts
bracing myself for the call
Claustrophobia threatening
mood darkening
cursing countless rings
Disembodied tone – voicemail
30 seconds to convey
a deluge, delusions, distance
Tantamount to Tantalus’ torture
hanging up – hanging head in distress
I give up, grimacing, reassess
Tongue-tied not ten minutes before
now my words come to the fore
conjured up by a simple plastic pen
My nominees for Day 1 are:
Obviously, there are no obligations to do this, none at all – you guys can cry off if you want. I know Matt won’t though as he just loves a challenge 😉
The rules for this challenge are:
- Each day for three consecutive days post a quote (any quote – you can even come up with your own) and a poem to accompany it.
- On each day nominate 3 bloggers for the challenge.
- Don’t forget to thank the blogger who nominated you

Great challenge idea, and I love your poem. Kerouac was a great writer.

Well, I don’t think it was great work from me but I enjoyed it because I felt like I was “allowed” to play with the words and that the finished product didn’t matter so much.
And yeah, this challenge I couldn’t resist doing for some reason 😉
Thanks again Jennifer 🙂

Your poems was wonderful! I think anything we enjoy doing is great! It’s funny though, every time I post on here, the ones I personally love are the ones which don’t get as many likes, as the ones I think, hmm this isn’t very good! lol

Oh I totally get that, it’s always the ones I like the most that don’t seem to be as appreciated by others. Different strokes, right? 😉
