Wherever you live in the world,
where did “your” people
originally come from?
That’s right,
they came from
far and wide
they came from
all over the place
they came from
everywhere
This is the Banksy piece that popped up in a refugee camp in Calais, France.
It features Steve Jobs who was, of course, the son of a Syrian immigrant.
We have driven ourselves crazy with this immigration thing
Yes of course
But how did we get started in the first place
You are rite

We have driven ourselves crazy indeed. The problem is that it’s always the people who are resolutely “pro” OR “anti” we hear about, I would like such important subjects to be discussed by unbiased people with a cool head. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment Sheldon π

Excellent. How many of those screaming to keep immigrants out will see and understand this? Anger and fear blind people, and tyrants feed off of it. Very troubled times for us as a species, I fear.

Interesting that coming from everywhere might mean at times having nowhere to go… Great poem.. and, for the record, I didn’t know that Steve Jobs was son of a Syrian immigrant, either.
Have a nice week ahead, dear Nathalie… love and best wishes. Aquileana ππ₯
