Our teenage dreams, once vibrant fragrant flowers are now buried deep into the barren ground as we helplessly flounder with the heavy mantle of responsibility
Whenever I hear a song from my youth. I remember being carefree, dancing with friends. I then wonder, why we have to grow up. I think we need to recapture that as often as possible!
Same, same, and same Rob! It’s a difficult balancing act but it’s important to keep trying for that balance, no matter how challenging it might be π
I have worked very hard to keep those dreams alive and occasionally get called selfish for holding onto them. But what is the purpose of life if one does not hold onto their dreams. And I think I am doing a reasonable job starting to make some of them come true
So true… All that on behalf of adulthood… Growing up is a way of making It through social restrictions, somehow… Sending Love and best wishes, dear Nathalie, happy new year ahead, Aquileana πππ
Very true and wonderfully stated.

I try to recapture that as often as possible indeed – it’s an absolute necessity!

I’m 35 and continue to avoid responsibilities.

Perfect reflection. Though I hope my teenage dreams are still alive in a more mature and reasoned form…

Some of those teen aspirations are still with me, usually at conflict with the responsibilities of being an adult. Sigh. It was beautiful, Nathalie!

Yes, same thing here… the “selfishness” tag is unavoidable, but it’s usually thrown about by people with no imagination and no real inspiration…
