Full moon

you like it when I bite
don’t you?
when I push
and I fight
lacerating your clothes
as fingertips turn into claws
leaving marks
visible in the dark
I’m a treacherous rose bush
but I get under your skin
when you get too close
drawing tiny pearls of blood
when you lick
my delicious thorns
it’s only for a few nights
mind you
as soon as the full moon
with its mad light
I’ll be back
to being a cute pussycat
(yeah, right)
until the next time
the werewolf
to come out
of the crepuscular woods

*This silly thingy was inspired by a little chat just now with the lovely Vic (don’t ask)*

      1. I know…I am slow sometimes! I’ve also been drinking bourbon in hopes that I can sleep tonight… πŸ˜› But seriously…the moon explains some things!

      2. You know, I’m so glad you said that because when I tell people I can’t sleep during the full moon, they laugh in my face. But I really can’t and when I do, it’s all really vivid dreams – not restful at all.
        Bourbon is a good idea, I should try that…except I don’t have any 😳

      3. OMg, I had the most bizarre dreams last night! I just drank all mine…although… I’m sure I have some more somewhere. I know alcohol doesn’t make your sleep restful but it at least helps me get to sleep, which I didn’t last night until like 4 am. Ugh.

      4. You were and may I say you were…doing…GREAT! πŸ˜πŸ˜‚
I’ve not often dreamt about WP people. Only a few times and one person in particular has shown up in my dreams. But it is a first for you πŸ˜‰

      5. Nat, I actually have a second blog for more adult content. I keep my primary blog suitable for consumption by people I know in the real world (Family and patients) I’ll go and like your about page so you can find me. Anyway, I was venting my ‘frustrations’ yesterday!

      6. I know! I thought about your poem and what we were talking about. πŸ˜„ I’m so freaking tired!! And…other things… 😈

      7. I know, it makes falling asleep easier but staying asleep harder. That’s why I was trying to beat the system with melatonin. 😁

      8. I just read that the moon was closest two days ago and then the full moon. I think that’s why I haven’t slept right in three nights. Plus hormones, which I’m super sensitive to. Sometimes I hate it, lol.

      9. I’m wondering if that’s the trade-off…sensitive but freaky. I can track my cycle by the headaches I get every two weeks(or like this month, every 7 days). Then add in the moon and damn…

      10. Red meat? Really! How interesting. With me, it’s really the sleep thing. As in, I get none. But I was actually asking you Meg, in a not so subtle way, if you got a little…er…freaky as well when the full moon is upon us πŸ˜‰

      11. Ha! No the red meat and night vision part was a joke! (Werewolf…) And as for the other… I wasn’t paying attention! The full moon! That actually explains it. I was really in quite a state yesterday! So obviously it does make me … freakier! πŸ˜€

      12. Oh Meg! Of course! LOL There I was at 5am wondering if I actually DID crave red meat more! πŸ˜‚
I’m such an idiot! What can I say, it WAS 5am and I haven’t slept properly in 2 days so…I’m slow! 😜

      13. I’m always amazed when you’re still responding to comments when it’s nearly my bedtime in the US! πŸ˜€ I was up all night last night too. My brain is whirling but not in a good way. Sometimes it whirls creatively, but the last two nights… not so much. 😦

      14. You’ll find I usually do that around the full moon or…*whispers* around that time of the month. Those are the 2 things that usually rob me of my sleep. I know what you mean though, my brain is not being “active” in a good way either. I had 5 cups of coffee this morning which can’t help I’m sure. I say us girls should lift each other up today #BanishTheCreativeSlump (okay so I just totally stole the idea from Al)

  1. Hmm. I tried to link through via email and it said this post was gone. I like the dark scary nature of this though I am not particularly afraid of anything in the woods. It does make me wonder what you and Vic were discussing
