Come and inspire me, come and pull my strings, save me from silent glaring mannequins
I’m in need of a waterfall crashing down steep hills in cascades of feelings
You, I will let you
Whiskey with ice is a crime committed by swines and pitch-black hearts
Break the glass, select the largest shard – stab convention keeping us apart
You, I will let you do
Breathe heavy and deep, drown my faded pink, exhale burgundy reds with your lips on my neck
I walk, you follow, I talk, you swallow, inevitable thoughts of your tongue down my throat
You, I will let you do anything
We glide down parallel lines, I’m here and you’re there, you want me, throw the dice, live & dare
Take your time, please come fast, we’ve fallen, crossed over, it’s so late – too late in the day to be scared
You, I will let you do anything to
It’s not you, it’s me—it’s not me, it’s you—we’re so much of the same – balanced on opposite sides of the scales
On my skin, on my heart, it’s not a stain, it’s your name—you’re calling mine, in the dark—it is right, it is sane
You, I will let you do anything to me
*Is anybody else exhausted due to General Election? What a week it’s been. Special thanks to my friend Adam for closing it in style with me late last night, or rather early this morning*
A beautifully written lamentation and testimony to longing

You’re far too kind to my little nonsense, Candice. But I love you for it, sister 💜

You’re so FAR from nonsense it’s unbelievable. I wish you saw that. I’m going to believe in you for three lifetimes and eventually you’ll see what I see, a gorgeous magnificent girl with green-bleu eyes and a writers brightened soul.

When are you going to find the Simon to your Garfunkle? The Elton to your Bernie Taupin??

The Anton Corbijn to my Depeche mode? The Alex Ferguson to my Eric Cantona?? (That’s a new one for you, Tom – bet you didn’t know about my Cantona obsession)

Election? I was only thinking of what it would be like to be the ‘you’ in this post. 😍 I lost track of everything else 😊

It’s funny how three tiny little dots can imply so much – one can imagine so many different things…

I’m intrigued…the use of “perhaps” is telling me the level of provocation cannot be very high

Very true – I almost said that in my earlier reply…and for some reason, didn’t

I love the way the recurring voice slowly manages to get its words out in the end. I read it as a returning whisper, floating in after the boldness of the verses only to be interrupted by the intensity of the stronger, more urgent declarations. But it had its say in the end, and that was perfect, like a whispered confession.
Welcome back! I hope this means your slump has been banished? 🙂 Thank you for the mention, and thanks again for another wonderful evening of rambling and drinking! It was definitely worth the wait! 🙂

The voice always has its way in the end 😉
“A whispered confession” – love that!
And ditto! Was so good to see you and it was *definitely* worth the wait 🙂
